Thanks for sharing. More importanly, thanks for listening. I pray that my hearing would be so good as yours. Too many times I get caught up with what I see, instead of the unseen.

I just thought I'd see who I'm talking to.... I remember this quote, and it is beautiful. Humbling. I too believe strongly that living out our Faith must also be done vocationally. It must be done day in, and day out... no matter how dirty it gets.

I also have struggled moving my blog forward as of late. No reason, lack of inspiration... I think the last post actually sums it up... but perhaps it awaits behind the next horizon. Nice to meet you.

Hi Rachel
Thanks for visiting. And yes I have been looking at your blog, and it seems we are singing from the same hymn sheet for much of our thinking.
As you can see, I have not been doing a good job at keeping this blog on the move with fresh postings. That's because I like too much to cause trouble on other blogs!

Hi Mike
Thanks for visiting and the encouragement. Regarding business, I love working for the Lord, it gives me a chance to prove the veracity of the gospel beyond the shallow view of church.
By this I refer to the fact that preachers see the gospel's purpose as simply the means of getting sinners to heaven when they die. I see it as the means of getting salvation rooted into the lives of those who are believers.

False doctrine has robbed believers of the inheritance which God has for them whilst still on earth. I am not repeating the prosperity gospel but talking about the reign of the King in a man's heart, from which proceeds all sorts of victory, rather than the apologetic defeat we usually see amongst christians.

Frank,

Cool quote you have used here. Funny I have never seen it before, and in the last couple of months I have seen it twice.

I appreciate your comments on my post. It seems we have a similar approach to things.

I too am in my 50's and have had my own business for over 30 years. I am becoming more and more atune to His business and ways that I might be used to build His kingdom instead of my own.

I am pleased to meet you. I look forward to getting to know you a little better.

All for now,

Mike

Wow! That is such an encouraging testimony of God's love and providence, and of His reward and blessings to us when we obey HIS lead.

I read a comment you left on Larry Who's post "Swimming Upstream: “My Journey Out (Part 2)", where you talked about prophetic voices in the church and so on. I couldn't agree more with everything you said in that comment and I wondered whether I could link to your blog on my next post and quote your very words explaining that you wrote them and so on. I have experienced in very minute measure some of the opposition that Larry encountered from his pastor and would like to write a post about that and quote you in it too. Would you mind if I did so and if I linked my post to yours?

Thanks Dean
Its an interesting verse which you refer to.
In my post, I was referring to sinners hearing God, not God hearing sinners as this verse seems to say.
Also it seems that it was actually spoken by an ordinary person who had just received healing from Jesus. Therefore the words although recorded in the scriptures cannot be given the authority of scriptural doctrine.

Lets look at some thoughts regarding God hearing sinners, if that is the point you are making.

If a sinner was not to be heard by God, how would a sinner ever come to God, as indeed we all do.

Jesus spent all of his ministry listening to sinners, and when they asked to "see the Father" he said to them,"if you have seen me you have seen the Father". ie he embodied the Father.

If Jesus listened to a sinner like me, then he will listen to all sinners who come to him.

If Satan was in the midst of the assembly which came before the throne of God, and was able to address God, then I just think that God might also have a little time for the ordinary mortal.

Perhaps you have further thoughts on this. Also what do you actually think about the gist of what is in my original posting.
